Hello settler! I’m Boramy. Welcome to A Township Tale. For many years I’ve been a huge fan of video game worlds like that of Zelda, Dark Souls, Don’t Starve and Terraria. And about a year ago, we decided to start on our insane venture to build one of these epic fantasy worlds purely for VR. That’s A Township Tale.

You explore an abandoned town in the mountains, and discover mines, forests and dungeons filled with history. But as a new member of this town, you need to take up a role to gather resources and actually use them to make your own tools and weapons. One of the coolest things about VR is your ability to physically interact with the game, so you’re actually swinging your sword, or sawing down trees and turning them into handles for your tools. Every little corner of the game’s world has hidden possibilities, and you’ll learn to look at the world from a whole new perspective.

As you and others play the game, you fill these roles and collect unique resources to share with others. Eventually you’ll become an actually functioning town. Or you won’t function at all. That...can also happen. But that’s part of the fun too, you’ll make alliances and rivalries all the while striving for survival. People are capable of building such cool worlds, that we couldn’t help but imagine what it would be like if you were living in one. And that’s what this is all about.
